Freedom Circles

Freedom Circles, are sacred spaces of remembering, where participants share stories, ancestral practices, and lived wisdom — cultivating belonging and balance through cooperative dialogue. Each circle begins inwardly, in reflection and care, and flows outward in solidarity and shared imagination. Together, we practice what it means to live free and whole.

Listen. Learn. Grow.

The GITS Community Listening Series forum is a learning space for all Gemstones to gather, fostering the shared flow of information and conversation. The forum is intended as a space to cultivate an understanding of intersectionality, as well as a space where all identities are welcome and no oppressions are ranked over others.

In this learning space, CLSF participants have the opportunity to engage in specifically chosen topics designed to promote deeper inner growth individually and collectively. These topics are presented by dynamic speakers, who are in alignment with GITS’ mission, followed by Q&A.  The presentations [not the Q&A] are recorded and are made accessible to the GITS community.

Community Listening Series Forums are free of charge.

Movement Chaplains

Our Movement Chaplaincy Program equips leaders with the spiritual and emotional tools needed to sustain activism and healing work in their communities. Chaplains are trained to provide compassionate presence, spiritual grounding, and trauma-informed support to individuals and groups engaged in social, ecological, and economic justice movements.

This program is temporarily paused. If you would like to express future interest, please email us with a brief introduction and why Movement Chaplaincy feels like a good fit for you.

The Solidarity Cooperative Franchise (Long-term Initiative)

Where the work of healing becomes the work of building together.

The Solidarity Cooperative Initiative is where recovery, empowerment, and right livelihood begin to grow together. Rooted in the spirit of the Freedom Circle, it invites community members to bring what they have learned — through recovery or their own paths of healing — into shared practice with other justice-minded people of color.

The SCI nurtures entrepreneurship and local leadership from within. Each community discerns its own priorities and defines what sufficiency means for itself. GITS walks alongside these efforts — offering mentorship, learning, and connection that honor local wisdom and self-determination.

The Solidarity Cooperative Franchise is a long-term initiative.
